Update 9/2/10 @ 9:30am- Most of the rain yesterday missed Tawas
Bay. The
NWS
Weather Station in East Tawas reports that August finished
with rainfall of 1.63" at their location which is 47% of
the long-term average for the month. The average temperature for August was 4°
above the long-term average for the month. Year-to-date precipitation
is 1" higher than usual, or about 5%
above the long-term average. The 20th annual
Labor Day Arts and Crafts Show is this Saturday and Sunday on
Newman Street in downtown East Tawas. The day trips and dinner cruises to
Charity Island are operating from the East Tawas State Dock
this year. Fuel prices at the State Dock- $3.32 for gas
and $2.93 for diesel. Gas prices in town- $2.64 to $2.68/gal. for regular.
