Update 10/22/2020 @ 11:30 am-- The NWS COOP Weather Station in East Tawas reports that through October 22, monthly precipitation has been 12% (-.23") below average and the temperature has been 2% (-1.1°) below average; annual precipitation has been 9% (+2.26") above average and the average annual temperature has been 3% (+1.3°F) above average. Monthly precipitation for the Lake Huron-Michigan Basin through October 21 has been 9% (-.15") below average. As of October 22, the average Lake Huron surface temperature is 54.6°F compared to 52.0°F last year and to the long-term average of 53.3°F. At 10:30 am, the weather buoy located 32NM northeast of Alpena shows an air temperature of 46.0°F, a water temperature of 51.6°F, an E wind speed at 6 mph and a wave height of 0.7 ft. The weather buoy located 43NM east of Oscoda shows an air temperature of 47.8°F, a water temperature of 53.1°F, and a SSE wind speed at 7 mph. The weather buoy located 4NM east of Pt. AuGres has been recovered for the winter.
