Update 2/18/2020 @ 7:30 am-- The NWS COOP Weather Station in East Tawas reports that as of February 17, monthly precipitation has been 42% (-.39") below average, the temperature has been slightly (0.5°) above average, annual precipitation has been 19% (+0.53") above average and the annual temperature has been 24% (+5.2°) above average. As of February 17, monthly snowfall has been 9.2"; annual snowfall for the year beginning July 1 has been 31.1" compared to an average of 37.1"; and the snow depth is 7". Monthly precipitation for the Lake Huron-Michigan Basin through February 16 has been 53% (-.50") below average. The average Lake Huron surface temperature is 34.5°F compared to 32.9°F last year and compared to the long-term average of 34.1°F. As of February 17, ice cover on Lake Huron is 22.88% compared to 57.76% last year.
