Update 9/18/2020 @ 10:00 am-- The NWS COOP Weather Station in East Tawas reports that as of September 18, monthly precipitation has been 61% (-1.24") below average and the temperature has been 5% (-2.8°F) below average; annual precipitation has been 12% (+2.65") above average and the average annual temperature has been 4% (+1.6°F) above average. Monthly precipitation for the Lake Huron-Michigan Basin as of September 16 has been 5% (+.09") above average. As of September 18, the average Lake Huron surface temperature is 61.4°F compared to 63.1°F last year and to the long-term average of 63.2°F. At 7:10 am, the weather buoy located 32NM northeast of Alpena shows an air temperature of 49.1°F, a water temperature of 56.1°F, a NNE wind at 13 mph and a wave height of 3.0 ft. The weather buoy located 43NM east of Oscoda shows an air temperature of 53.1°F, a water temperature of 59.9°F, and an NNE wind at 22 mph. The weather buoy located 4NM east of Pt. AuGres shows an air temperature of 46.9°, a N wind at 20 mph and a wave height of 2.3 ft.
